Inducement of Breach of Contract

Inducing a breach of contract is a tort that deals with intentionally interfering in contractual relations. In this case, such interference comes in the form of tempting or inducing a party to breach a contract. An example would be one employer tempting an employee to abandon their current employer for better wages or some other benefit.

Employment contract

In Canada, the law surrounding the tort of inducing a breach of contract clarifies that despite the fact that only the parties to a contract are obligated to honour it, all third parties are obligated to respect contractual relations in general and to not interfere in its execution unless they have some valid legal reason to do so.
